Yay! You’re back.

If you’ve missed the energy and momentum that live events and being part of an engaged community of writers can provide, this option is for you.

Momentum 2026 will run from January 19th - April 30th.

The 3-month ‘Momentum’ option is available to alumni of the Memoir Writing Ink course who are looking for inspiration, answers to ongoing questions, and the energy that live events and being part of an engaged community of writers can provide. This is a terrific way to keep your literary gears turning. Or to finish the course if you didn’t quite manage it the first time. ;)

HOW MOMENTUM WORKS

When you enroll in Momentum, you will be part of the next cohort of Memoir Writing Ink, which begins on January 19. Depending on where you are in your writing journey, you have the option of:

* Redoing whatever sections of the course feel most alive to you now AND/OR
* Attending whatever live events inspire you AND/OR
* Joining the new community group and getting feedback on your writing AND/OR
* Tapping into the energy of the cohort and using that to fuel your pen.

MOMENTUM LIVE EVENTS

1. Alumni Hour: Discussion sessions exclusively for alumni, where questions can focus on the 'next stages' of writing: revising, specifics about 'the container' or 'skywriting' of one's writing, submitting to publications, etc.

2. Guided Writing Sessions: These sessions are opportunities to gather as a group and be inspired to take our writing into new and fascinating places.

3. Revision Workshop: A special session with Alison on the process of revisions and how to bring a piece of writing to its highest iteration.

BONUS: Sneak Peak at the Amy Award: An exclusive live session for Momentum students with the 2026 judge of the International Amy MacRae Award for Memoir.

PLUS ACCESS TO MEMOIR WRITING INK’s:

  1. Twice-weekly emails and their accompanying bouquets. 🌸

  2. Q&As: Unless you have everything figured out by now. ;)

  3. *NEW* Community Group: We’re trying something new this year and not using a Facebook group, but rather the community space in Thinkific (our course platform). Here you can post course writing for moderated peer review, learn how to offer genuinely helpful feedback, and hone your editorial eye.

  4. Writers Unite!: Connecting with fellow writers, exchanging ideas, and forming writing partnerships and groups can all provide additional momentum and keep you writing when your own steam runs out.

All sessions and special events (except Writers Unite) will be recorded
and the replays made available until May 31.

When I signed up for the option of doing the very affordable Momentum version of Alison’s course a year later, I had no idea what to expect during my participation. To my great joy and gratitude, the second round was more fruitful than the first!

I brought a new perspective to the course and a deepened readiness to absorb the guidance and content in a newly beneficial way.

Add to this the new round of inspiring and generous live events, as well as a community that wrapped us all in a supportive learning community, and all I can say is: Alison’s course is the gift that just keeps on giving!
