THE RETREAT
This retreat is designed to foster creativity, serenity and inspiration for your writing. From our light-bathed classroom setting to the exquisite meals and carefully-selected accommodations, you will find the perfect blend of comfort, nourishment, beauty, serenity, camaraderie, and the opportunity to immerse yourself fully in a writing retreat experience.
Early Bird Bookings made before September 30, 2024:
Regular Price: USD$2,000 + tax | CAD$2,650 + tax
Memoir Writing Ink Alumni*: USD$1,900 | CAD$2,550
Bookings made after September 30, 2024: USD$2,250 | CAD$2,950
* Alumni of the Memoir Writing Ink program receive a discount of $100.

HOW TO REGISTER (3-Step Payment)
1. Make your non-refundable retreat deposit of CAD$1,500 / USD$1,000 (+ sales tax) below.
2. Reserve your room at The Inn at Laurel Point. We have arranged deeply discounted room rates accessible using our special discount booking link, which you’ll receive when you make your deposit. You can select a room in the Laurel wing at $219/night or you may choose to upgrade to an ‘ultra luxury’ room/suite in the Erickson wing at $299/night
PLEASE NOTE: Arrangements/payment for your room are made directly with/to the hotel. Instructions will be provided once you make your deposit.
3. The retreat balance of payment (Early Bird rate: CAD$1,150 / USD$1,000 + tax) will be due on February 16, 2025.
If you are sharing a room with another participant, you will each need to make a retreat deposit and balance of payment. Only the cost of the hotel is shared.

Upon receipt of your deposit, you’ll be given our special access code to reserve your room of choice at the deeply discounted retreat rate.
Prefer to book your own accommodations?
If you have alternate accommodations in Victoria and would still like to be a part of the retreat, we have a limited number of ‘Events & Meals Only’ spots available. This option includes all of the events (teachings) and all meals, as outlined in the FAQs. Because this is a hotel-based retreat and our arrangement with that hotel is an all-inclusive one, there is no ‘only events/no meals’ option.
Given sufficient interest, however, Alison may offer a workshop for local people at a future date. To add your name to the ‘Victoria - Local Workshop’ list, CLICK HERE.
To reserve an ‘Events & Meals Only’ spot, simply make your deposit and write to heather@alisonwearing.com to let us know that you will not be booking a hotel room. There are a limited number of these spots available.

The retreat begins on Sunday, April 13, with a welcome event at 5pm. Participants are welcome to arrive anytime after hotel check-in at 3pm.
We will wrap up the retreat on the morning of Thursday, April 17, and hotel check-out is at 11am.
The closest airport is in Victoria (YYJ), and there are also ferries to Victoria from Vancouver (BC Ferries) and Seattle (FRS Clipper).
Participants will make their own way to and from the retreat venue, The Inn at Laurel Point.

Once you make your registration deposit, you will receive a special link to use for booking your room at the Inn at Laurel Point.
Be sure to use this link as it will give you a deeply discount rates, reserved for our retreat guests!
Once you select your dates, you will choose the room that is right for you and you can manage your booking directly with the hotel.
Our rate for a 4-night, single-occupancy room in the Laurel Wing is CAD$219/night or deluxe rooms in the Erickson wing are CAD$299/night. There is also an ‘ultra deluxe’ 5-star suite in the Erickson Wing you may wish to explore! You may also choose to extend your stay at the discounted rate.
All room payments and arrangements are made directly with the hotel.

You are very welcome to share a room (and the Erickson Wing studios are particularly spacious!). In this case:
* Each participant registers separately, paying her own deposit and balance of payment.
* The only part of the cost that is shared is the hotel room, which is booked directly with the hotel.
When you pay your deposit, you can clarify on your checkout form that you are planning to share a room. This is just for our records, so we have an idea how many hotel rooms are booked overall and where people are staying.

The final payment is due on February 16, 2025. We will send you the payment link by email one week before.

We have included breakfast and lunch throughout the retreat and group dinners on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday evenings. We invite you to explore the beautiful city or create group dinners on your free evening at the hotel!

Yes, we strongly recommend that you have travel insurance and check your policy inclusions, as some may include cancellation refunds should you be unable to attend the retreat.

Sometimes life gets in the way of plans! Please review our cancellation policy and also check your travel insurance policy for trip cancellations, including reimbursement of any non-refundable trip costs.
